K-Way

Created in 1965 on a rainy day in Paris, Leon-Claude Duhamel watched as people darted through Paris streets, unsuccessfully striving to stay dry. After his observations, he created a simple, unisex jacket from nylon with a pocket in front. The pocket, convenient for keeping belongings dry, also allowed the jacket to tuck into itself. He called the jacket “En cas”, French for “in case”, simultaneously alluding to the chance of rain, as well as its self-stowing pocket. Over 50 years later, K-Way is the modern raincoat. Born from a simple idea, the packable jacket didn’t just solve a problem, it opened doors. Representative of freedom and flexibility, K-Way jackets let you live your life and say “yes” to adventure, no matter the weather.

K-Way will be showing at KNOWSHOW Vancouver.

Biggest Challenge Part 2

One of the best things about the KNOWSHOW is getting so many unique people and perspectives under one roof.  During the show last January we spent some time picking the brains of a group of the show's attendees to get their thoughts on a couple topics.

Our business is no cake walk right now. We asked everyone what they felt was their biggest challenge is, and how they are managing it.

Body Glove

Founded in 1953, Body Glove is the creation of twin brothers Bill & Bob Meistrell, who invented the first practical wetsuit. Cheap Monday

1.png

It’s been only five years since the first pair of denims with the characteristic skull logo hit the market but today, Cheap Monday is a full concept denim brand.  The first pair, a tight skinny fitting denim, was originally made as a product exclusive for Örjan Andersson’s shop, Weekday. The concept was a reaction to the increasingly expensive denim flourishing on the market at the time. It was an immediate success and the collection, now a complete denim and fashion collection, soon grew too big to be carried by the Weekday stores alone. Cheap Monday can now be found in the best shops world wide.

Cheap Monday will be showing at KNOWSHOW Vancouver.

TOMS

In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need.

For every pair of TOMS shoes purchased, TOMS provides a new pair of shoes to a child in need. TOMS has donated over 70 million pairs of shoes to children in need, across 70+ countries, since its launch in 2006!
